| Thallus to 7 cm wide, adnate to ascending, thin, often fenestrate, olive-green to blackish green, browning when dry, matt, sometimes parts lighter green and glossy. Lobes short, broad, contiguous, imbricate, forming a dense cushion. Lobules dense along margins, 1–3 mm wide, flat or concave, margin not swollen. Apothecia numerous, 1–2 mm wide, submarginal or marginal, sessile, with constricted base; disc flat becoming convex, matt or glossy, epruinose, dark red; thalline exciple thin, entire, smooth to crenulate becoming verrucose to granulose. Asci 65–80 × 13–19 µm. Ascospores 40–70 × 4.5–6.5 µm, straight to curved, fusiform to subfusiform or broadly acicular, one end narrow and strongly extended, 6-celled, not constricted. Pycnidia rare, to 200 µm wide, marginal to submarginal; pycnidial gel pale yellowish green. Conidia c. 4 µm long, straight, slightly swollen towards ends. | ||
